Eight Pupils Die In Volta Lake Boat Disaster;
A boat carrying eight students from the Atikagome Community in the Sene East District of the Bono East region capsized on the Volta Lake, they perished.
The eight were among 20 students who were halfway between Atikagome and Wayokope when the incident happened.
Speaking about the incident, Ibrahim Wudonyim, the Sene East Director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), said they received the news of the tragedy too late.
According to Mr. Wudonyim, the incident took place in a small fishing town near the only school in the region.
