Highway accident between Kasoa and Cape Coast causes more than 15 people injured. 
More than 15 passengers were critically injured in a horrifying car crash on the Kasoa-Cape Coast highway in the Central region.
A Ford and a Tipper truck collided in the accident on Friday night close to the Gomoa Dominase onion market.
According to Winneba Municipal Fire Service investigations, the Ford with the license plate GE 7270-17 was making its way from Takoradi to Accra.
The vehicle attempted a mistaken overtake and collided with the tipper who was coming from the opposite direction.
ADO2 The incident was confirmed by Jude Oppong Manu, the officer in command of the rescue crew from the Winneba Municipal Fire service station.
He said that the Ford’s driver was stuck inside the vehicle for an hour as a result of the collision, but that he and the other passengers were eventually rescued and sent to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.
In order to protect lives and property, he warned drivers using the Kasoa Cape Coast Highway to decrease excessive driving and avoid needless overtaking.
