Kirin Cup: Ghana to play Chile in third-place game
The Black Stars of Ghana will lock horns with Chile in the third-place match of the Kirin Cup tournament on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.
Ghana lost their opening game against Host Japan by 4-1 on Friday Morning and are looking forward to bounce back to winning ways.
Tunisia became the only African Nation to record a win in the ongoing Kirin Tournament in Japan, they defeated Chile by 2-0.
On the matchday, experienced striker Jordan Ayew netted the only consolation goal for Ghana.
The defeat means that the Black Stars have no business in the finals of this year’s Kirin Cup.
The final will be played between Japan and Tunisia whilst Ghana will also battle with Chile for the third place.
Coach Otto Addo and his technical team are using the games at the Kirin Cup to prepare for the 2022 FIFA World Cup that will be staged in Qatar later this year.
