Man, 21, stabs woman, 60, to death and makes threats to shoot nearby residents.
Residents of Sepe- Boukrom in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti region, had to be courageous to arrest a 21-year-old guy who had gone mad after fatally stabbing a 60-year-old woman multiple times to death. 
Koo Baah, the suspect, who is currently in police custody, threatened to shoot residents who tried to arrest him after the horrible murder, but they overpowered him and turned him over to the authorities.
He is accused of stabbing Rose Gyaah, an elderly woman, eight (8) times on the morning of February 6, 2023.
When the woman’s body was discovered in her bathroom in a three-story building, emergency personnel took her to the hospital, where she was later declared dead.
Residents heard Rose Gyaah’s cries, but by the time they arrived to save her, she was lying in a pool of her own blood, according to Hamidu Issah, a co-tenant of the dead, who was quoted in Starrfm.com.gh.
“We heard the deceased Maa Rose shouting while mentioning the name Koo Baafi who happens to be an errand boy for her, so we thought it was a normal call which she normally does, but we realized the deceased’s voice was fainting, so we rushed to her room at the last floor of the three-story building.
“When got there, we saw blood stains all over the place, so we began following the blood stains and discovered the woman had been dragged to the bathroom by the suspect.
“We immediately called the police for assistance but the woman was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital,” the news website quotes Issah as saying.
The incident has caused a sense of mourning over the entire community.
What provoked the suspect to conduct the crime remains unknown.
