BIOGRAPHY OF WORLASI
Worlasi, born Worlasi Langani in Agbozume in Ghana’s Volta region, is a singer and painter. His talents include music and figure drawing. Worlasi’s interest in music began while he was listening to the radio and sampling the beats of songs that he believed did not reach his high standards. His musical inspiration stems from personal experiences and what he observes around him, which he interprets into instrumentals and eventually into words.
Worlasi’s music has landed him on stages with some of Ghana’s best musical groups, including ACCRA.ALT’s Sabolai Radio, Dark Suburb’s awakening concert, Beatphreaks, and The Unheard Voices, among others. He was also named one of the musicians to watch in 2017 by BBC DJ Rita Ray.
Worlasi’s musical career may be traced back to his debut chart-topping track, Ay3 Adz3, which catapulted him to popularity. He later released his debut 14-track mixtape “Nuse,” which won him additional acclaim and established him as a legitimate celebrity. His most recent album, “Uncut,” is a 13-track collection featuring artists like as Krack Gyamfi, Emperaw, and Laelaure. Worlasi has also worked with Ghanaian legends EL, Manifest, and Sarkodie.
Worlasi is a Ghanaian rapper, singer, music producer, and composer with near-perfect vocal abilities. His adaptability allows him to transition between singing and rapping in English, Ewe, Fante, Ga, and Pidgin. His songs are known for their upbeat and encouraging lyrics, which combine soul, hip-hop, and African flavours. Too Naughty, Nuse, One Life, Nukata, and You Saw Me are among his finest hits. He makes his Coke Studio Africa 2017 debut as a Big Break Artist, with Kenya’s Sauti Sol and Nigeria’s Chidinma.
