Yilo Krobo Senior High School in the Eastern region is struggling with significant furniture and infrastructural difficulties.
Several female students have been compelled by challenges to sleep and dress in the open amid uncomfortable congestion.
The challenges with the school’s infrastructure have gotten worse since the start of Free Senior High School.
Most students are now forced to sleep outside with their bags and chop boxes due to the overcrowding in the dorms.
Students forced to sleep outside due to insufficient dorm space to accommodate the expanding student population were shown in a viral video.
The issue, according to the students and school administration, is having an impact on academic activity, and they are pleading with the government to step in. 
The school’s PTA chairman, Iddrissu Adamptey, stated during an interview on Accra FM that the management of the institution has recently been burdened by the issue of congestion.
He believes that the shortage of dorms and the lack of furniture require prompt action.
He claimed that as a result, parents are forced to give their children plastic chairs to use as study furniture while also stating that the situation is still dire.
