I stoned Major Mahama – 2nd Accused tells court;
A stone was thrown at the deceased soldier, according to the second
accused in the case where about 14 people are on trial for the killing of
Mahama.
Until the event for which he was
The 22-year-old, who is currently putting out a
defense against the charges of
conspiracy and murder, said that the police’s transcription of his statement did not accurately reflect what he
actually told them.
He further admitted to the court that he cried out in fear in front of the
police when he was intimidated to
tell the truth.
Asamoah is the second accused person after William Baah to open a defence before the High Court in Accra presided over by Justice Mariama Owusu, a Justice of the Supreme Court sitting with an additional responsibility as a High Court judge.
