Kudus Mohammed makes Ajax return in friendly match against Telstar after Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup
Ghanaian midfielder Kudus Mohammed, returned to action for Ajax in a friendly match against Dutch team, Telstar on Friday.
After his efforts at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, where he scored twice for Ghana and provided one assist in three matches, he was withdrawn by his coach Alfred Schreuder after an hour.
In a friendly match, Ajax defeated Telstar 5-1 at training complex De Toekomst.
The game was extended by 30 minutes after the regular 90-minute time limit.
As a result, coach Alfred Schreuder was able to give a large portion of his squad extensive playing time in the lead-up to the season’s resumption next Sunday in Nijmegen against NEC.
After 20 minutes, Davy Klaassen scored off a cross from captain Dusan Tadic.
With Mohammed Kudus and striker Lorenzo Lucca, the Serb formed an attacking trio.
Schreuder changed almost his entire team after an hour.
Ajax played much better and more convincingly in the second hour with Steven Berghuis, Brian Brobbey, Kenneth Taylor, and Steven Bergwijn on the field, among others.
With two goals, Brobbey quickly increased the score to 3-0.
After a defensive blunder at Ajax, Telstar, the Kitchen Champion Division’s number 11, did something in the extra half hour.
Brobbey scored his third goal of the afternoon after Olivier Aertssen headed in a free kick from Berghuis.
