Ghanaian player Asamoah Gyan discloses his spiritual life
Asamoah Gyan, a football player from Ghana, takes pride in being a nominal Christian who hasn’t set foot in a church in a long time and can’t even remember the last time he picked up the bible to read.
Gyan nevertheless regards himself as a sincere Christian and affirms that his deeds are not evil despite his protracted departure from the church, which many Christians refer to as the presence of God.
The former Black Stars captain said he is always open to hearing God’s word from anyone he can establish has a sincere gospel message during an interview with Abeiku Santana on ATUU.
Gyan, who is regarded as one of the best football players in Africa, claims that the growth in phony churches has caused him to proceed cautiously.
When the presenter inquired about his most recent church visit, he revealed this.
“As Kofi Kinaata says, I am a part-time Christian. I was baptized in the Methodist Church, but I no longer go to church; I don’t. Now more than ever, they don’t preach the truth. Some of the churches don’t. But the choice not to go to church doesn’t make you a bad person,” he said.
If you sit me down to preach God’s word, I will listen, but before then I need to analyze the person, especially when I know their lifestyle. “Yes, I am a Christian. I just don’t go to church. I pray; we all pray. I don’t remember the last time I read my Bible, but I am a true Christian. My mind is always hot.” – Asamoah Gyan added.
