A hunter from Ghana arrested for killing his brother after mistaking him for an animal.

The Manso Police are detaining a 40-year-old hunter for fatally shooting his brother, whom he confused for an animal.

The tragic incident occurred at Bowohomoden, a neighborhood close to Mampong in the Western Region’s Mpohor District.

Kofi Essoun, the suspect, is said to be a well-known hunter in the neighborhood who accidentally killed his brother while out on a routine hunting trip.

A local named Nana Kwame informed Connect FM that the hunter had shot at what he believed to be an animal. He discovered he had killed his own brother when he rushed to the scene to retrieve it.

“He told us when he got home that he had shot his brother. Last night, he went hunting by himself without his brother. When he was about to go after the animal he had just shot, he noticed that his brother’s lifeless body was also nearby. The resident is quoted by 3news.com as stating, “He was shocked as to what his brother was doing at the site at that specific time in the night when he did not go hunting with him.

Essoun reported himself to the police after discovering his brother’s lifeless body, according to District Chief Executive (DCE) for Mpohor Ignatius Asaah Mensah.

According to another report, a Mercedes Benz that a man and his daughter were riding in clashed with a Tipper truck last week, causing them to pass away instantly.

On the outskirts of Onwe on the Ejisu-Kuntenase road, at about 11 a.m. on Monday, January 31, the unfortunate tragedy took place.

Kwame Mensah and his daughter Sarfo Emmanuella were recognized as the dead, and their bodies have been deposited at a neighboring mortuary.
