A Plus chides critics as he defends Bryan Acheampong’s ‘NPP will not hand over power’ statement

Bryan Acheampong, the minister of agriculture, has come under fire from Kwame Asare Obeng, also known as A Plus, for what he said was misinterpretation of his comments that the NDC was not taking control.

Prior to this, Bryan Acheampong restated his position from 2023, saying that in the next general elections of 2024, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the opposition, will not win the support of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking to a crowd during a Kwahu health walk, the Abetifi MP emphasized that the NDC would never win the upcoming elections and questioned why a party incapable of winning elections would want power at all price.

“Last year I stood here in Mpraeso and said that whether NDC likes it or not they will never win the 2024 polls. If you don’t win an election, will power be handed over to you? We will not hand it over to them today or tomorrow,” Mr. Acheampong was heard saying.

Since then, his remarks have provoked a popular outcry, with online users claiming that they jeopardize the nation’s stability ahead of the elections.

However, A Plus believes differently.

The social analyst broke out what Bryan Acheampong “truly meant” in a Facebook post, insisting that there is nothing wrong with his statements.

“What is the issue with this assertion? “You are not going to win, and if you do not win, we will not give you authority.” What is the issue with it? Did he suggest they wouldn’t give you the power if you win? Have you seen or heard that a party’s electoral defeat in the past led to their rise to power? “Work hard and succeed,” he said.

“Make sure the money you are allotted for the grassroots members who are putting in a lot of work for the party reaches them,” A Plus went on. Avoid engaging in the same 4ckry that some people did during the 2020 elections in some areas, when they accepted food such as fried rice, chicken, banku, and tilapia on voting day and let their rivals rig the results. You will not gain power if you lose! It is a fact, m@da4kn! I’m grateful.
