Military brutalizes civilians in Ashaiman after an alleged soldier killing, video 
The Ashaiman neighborhood has been placed under an unofficial curfew after some military men assaulted the area in response to the reported death of one of their colleagues.
Over the weekend, reports surfaced that unidentified intruders had murdered a uniformed soldier in Ashaiman.
A group of soldiers invaded the neighborhood early on Tuesday morning as it was pouring rain in order to exact retribution on civilians.

The military was occasionally seen beating up civilians in social media videos that went viral.
Another video showed Ashaiman’s streets in complete silence, with many residents hiding in their rooms out of dread of the army.
In the meantime, several Ghanaians have responded to the military invasion of Ashaiman on social media.
While some people decried the soldiers’ treatment of the bystanders, others supported their employment of such tactics to catch the murderers.

One Twitter user wrote: “You k!ll soldier for Ashaiman and you expect the military not to show up?? Make dem lash everybody…”
Another said: “These things must be relegated to the past. Someone is killed, unfortunate, but let the police handle the investigation. It’s not up to the military to deploy to ‘terrorize’ residents. Is it the whole Ashaiman involved in the crime?”
One other guy stated: “Ashaiman youth always messing up and doing unnecessary thing all in the name of “Ashaiman is hard town”. The soldiers should lash them all.
But, the military’s senior brass has not yet made a statement regarding the situation.
